For this fifth day of the #IS19, the sun was shining, the matches cancelled yesterday due to bad weather conditions were played today. Many spectators were there and were able to enjoy the entertainment and the good weather. The day ended with the Afterwork in the VIP area.
THE RESULTS
The match interrupted Monday night due to the rain finally ended with Caroline Garcia's victory over Shelby Rogers, who won by 4/6 - 6/4 - 6/3. She won her second match in the afternoon against Rebecca Peterson, allowing her to qualify for the quarter-finals. The French Chloé Paquet, also qualified after her match against Xinyun Han (6/3 - 6/3). She reached the first quarterfinal of her career in the WTA tournament. Aryna Sabalenka, Dayana Yastremska and Monica Puig are also on their way to the quarter-finals. Fiona Ferro enjoyed a wild atmosphere in the stands and won her match against Qiang Wang, the No. 2 and No. 16 seeded player in the world. Marta Kostyuk, only 16 years old, achieved an amazing result by winning her match against Saisai Zheng leading her straight to the quarter-finals.
ANIMATIONS
A signing session with Aryna Sabalenka took place on the stand of our partner L'espace H - BMW. Dyana Yastremska gave a Yonex racket to a group of children with Engie's support. The Fan Zone, which was on the move all day long, attracted many spectators, young and old alike.
