Samantha Stosur is one of the most experimented players of the circuit. She was born in Brisbane, Australia, on March 30th, 1984, and begun her professional career in 1999. She won 8 titles in simple and 24 in double on the WTA circuit. Her best ranking in her career was in 2010 with a 4th world place.

Her biggest achievement is without a doubt her victory at the 2010 US Open. She was the first Australian in 30 years to win a big slam. Finalist at the 2009 Rolland Garros , the 32 years old players likes the clay since two of her last win were on clay last year.

She is the defending champion in Strasbourg and come this year again with great ambitions. She might be the first player to achieved a back to back win in the tournament since Anabel Medina Garrigues in 2007 and 2008.

Last year, she defeated Kristina Mladenovic in final to win the tournament.

At home on all surfaces, the 23rd player in the world ranking is in great shape since her final in Prague last month.

The Aussie who stay on 7 seasons in a row in the top 30 at WTA ranking, will be one of the top players in this year Internationaux de Strasbourg.
